Getting Started

We are glad you have decided to investigate Cogiton technologies a bit more. This is a casual index of several entry points into the topic, and will be updated frequently as new materials become available.

Quick Preview

If you want to get a quick look at the absolute core of Cogiton Software Circuits, take a look at the CGN Glossary. This will give you a feel for the pictures in Cogiton Graphical Notation (CGN) and the corresponding code (pseduocode shown here) patterns it generates.

The Tome of Cogiton Knowledge

To get started, it is recommended to work your way through our free online book The Thinking Machine. The book will introduce the reader to the inherent problems with the physical structure of today's modern software approaches and introduce the Cogiton Software Circuit and how it addresses these issues.

However, if time is of the essence, as it frequently is, readers can quickly jump into the how-to in the first half of Chapter 2 and progress rapidly to Chapters 3 and Chapter 4 .

Our goal is to eventually make the complete book online free of charge. The introduction and first four chapters are available without doing anything - enjoy! To see the rest of the material, when it becomes available, we'll be asking you to sign up. Keep checking back - it will be up soon.

Onsite help

You can also contact me about both onsite training and consulting in these techniques. The core training module is a two day program covering all the basics of these techniques, and includes a hard copy of all the available online materials. In addition, I provide onsite and remote consulting services for clients. I especially focus on helping designing AJAX, client-server and desktop applications using these approaches. I facilitate teams in the design and documentation phases, provide on-the-job training and blend other appropriate notational techniques such as class, sequence and ER diagrams as needed.

Back talk

I also have a new blog I am starting to get feedback on the system, what people like and what they don't like. Please give us your input!
